RVs are more than a way to travel. They are a home that moves with you, carrying your memories, your comforts, and your sense of adventure wherever you go.
Your RV holds everything from your bed and kitchen to your favorite travel mementos, making it worth far more than just its vehicle value.
One day you are cruising down the interstate, the next you are parked by a quiet lake, which means your RV faces a constantly changing set of risks.
From custom solar panels to plush seating and entertainment systems, your upgrades make your RV one of a kind and worth protecting.
Insurance isn’t just a legal requirement, it’s your backup plan when life takes a turn. Learn what each coverage does so you’re never caught off guard.
Ranging from 26–45 feet with luxury features, Class A motorhomes often exceed $100,000 in value. Coverage should include collision, comprehensive, and full replacement cost.
At 17–23 feet, these compact RVs are easy to park but often have costly custom conversions. Make sure your policy covers upgrades and added equipment.
Built on a truck chassis with over-cab sleeping, Class Cs range 20–33 feet. Look for coverage that includes liability, roadside assistance, and personal property.
From 10–40 feet, these towable RVs aren’t covered by most auto policies. Comprehensive coverage protects against towing accidents, theft, and storm damage.
Large and stable, fifth wheels hitch over a pickup’s axle and offer residential-style space. Coverage should include replacement cost and campsite liability.
Lightweight and collapsible, pop-ups are budget-friendly but still at risk for theft and weather damage. Choose coverage that protects both storage and towing.
Many RV owners pause or reduce their coverage when the season ends, thinking they are saving money. The truth is, most of the biggest risks happen when the RV is parked.
Reducing coverage in the off-season can turn a small premium savings into a massive out-of-pocket expense. Keep your RV fully protected year-round so your next trip starts the moment you turn the key.

At Trailstone Insurance Group, we believe insurance shouldn’t be complicated. Below are some of the most common questions we hear from customers. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact us or speak directly with an agent, we’re here to help.
Only if you have a full-timer’s policy or add a full-timers endorsement. Standard RV policies assume the RV is used recreationally and not as your primary residence. Full-timers coverage acts more like a homeowners policy for your RV, adding liability protection and coverage for personal property on a year-round basis.
Not under a standard personal policy. Renting out your RV requires a commercial RV policy or coverage through a rental platform’s insurance program. Without the proper policy, you could be left paying for all damages or liability claims. We represent Roamly and they have a policy that will cover your RV when rented out, just let us know you are interested in renting your RV out and we can help.
Some insurers offer “storage mode” or seasonal policies that reduce coverage to comprehensive-only during the off-season. However, Trailstone recommends caution, forgetting to restore full coverage before driving can leave you uninsured in the event of an accident.
